Mossman High students dominated the recent Judo Australia championships in Brisbane.

Students from 120 schools across the country as well as others from New Zealand and Nauru took part in the event.

In a wonderful outcome that shows the strength of local junior judo talent within the Shire Mossman High was named overall winner at the national schools championships.

Nikita McDonald, Rikki Anderson and Lilly Schmidt each claimed gold while Max Schmidt won Silver.

Lilly Schmidt took Bronze while Harry Schmid fought well to finish fourth.

The children thanked Coral Coast Judo sensei’s Andy and Jeff for coaching the kids and Nanami for warming everyone up.
