Mondays, not typically everyone’s favourite day of the week. Yet, tucked away in the heart of our charming town is a hidden gem that turns the beginning of the week into an eagerly anticipated event - the weekly Locals Nights at Koko Poolside Bar and Kitchen at Peppers Beach Club.

For over four years Mondays at KoKo have been a local favourite, featuring a brilliant combination of ever-evolving shared platters, the regular talents of live musician Shannon Hunter, and the delightful ambiance of a beautiful poolside area - all complemented by refreshing cocktails.

Newsport recently had the pleasure of testing out Koko’s current Korean-style platter.

What can you expect at Koko? The shared platters are generously sized, ideal for sharing between two individuals. And, if you're in the company of more friends, rest assured, the platter size will scale up accordingly.

Prepare for a flavour-packed journey; this platter is not for the faint-hearted. Brace yourself as some of the sauces deliver a spicy kick, but fear not, as the culinary expertise ensures a delightful balance in every bite.

Dietary requirements are accommodated with a prior request, Newsport opted for a vegetarian platter featuring delectable items like vegetable spring rolls and a flavorful tofu skewer. The standard platter boasts tempting options such as Korean fried chicken wings and stir-fried marinated beef.

Highlighting the platters are sweet potato noodles, a culinary masterpiece, and Korean pancakes that contribute to a harmonious blend of textures and flavours. Sautéed and pickled vegetables add a refreshing touch to this culinary symphony.

To cap off the entire experience, Koko's presents an enticing selection of signature cocktails, including the ‘KoKonut’ and expertly paired Korean-inspired options like the ‘Pineapple Soju’ and ‘The Seoul Mule’.
