Car crash causes delays on the Captain Cook Highway
Two people have been transported to Cairns Hospital, both in stable condition, following a single vehicle crash on the Captain Cook Highway this morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash near Ellis Beach just before 10.00am.
Queensland Ambulance confirmed a male patient in his 20s and female patient in her 20s, both suffering non-serious chest injuries, were taken to hospital.
Both lanes of the highway were closed while the incident was controlled and delays along the highway are expected to continue for some time.
Emergency services are en route to a car accident on the Captain Cook Highway near Ellis Beach.
Motorists are reporting delays on the road and commuters are urged to allow extra travel time and drive with caution in the area.
QFES and Ambulance are on their way to the scene of the single-vehicle crash and more details will be made available soon.
