Luxury Port Douglas accommodation business, Coconut Grove, has welcomed a new General Manager in Ranaul Crabb.

Mr Crabb has managed iconic properties such as Silky Oaks Lodge and Orpheus Island Resort and now brings his skill set to one of the most luxurious properties in Port Douglas.

While he is only four days into his new role, he said he is loving every minute of it so far and is looking forward to the challenges ahead.

“I absolutely love it,” he said.

“To take what is already one of the best properties in Port Douglas and take it on a journey to the next level, is a role that I am relishing.

“It’s a fantastic, beautiful property and befitting of the style I’m used to managing.

“It is in great shape; Warwick and the team have done a great job with it.”

Owner of Coconut Grove, Warwick Bourguignon, said he’s excited to see where Mr Crabb steers the hotel into the future.

“We have recognised for some time that the modern traveller is looking for a more personalised accommodation experience,” Mr Bourguignon said.

“We want to evolve to meet that demand and with Ranaul joining our team, we will now look for him to create that guest experience within Coconut Grove.”

Mr Crabb’s new appointment will see him overseeing all aspects of the resort’s operation as well as the refinement of the guest experience.

He said he isn’t planning any big changes or changes in direction just yet but will create a renewed focus on the guest experience.

“I want to really get a feel for the role before making changes or moving directions just yet,” he said.

“I always have a strong focus on customer experience, maintaining the integrity in the branding, and making sure it maintains a competitive edge.

“There are a lot of lovely developments and potential developments in Port Douglas and I want to make sure Coconut Grove stays at the forefront of it.”

“I also want to pay homage to the team members who I intend to truly secure. Nicky and Morgan and the reception and housekeeping teams, they are all really good people.

“Warwick selected well and I want to make sure I retain them and keep them on board.”

Coconut Grove Resort Port Douglas with 33 luxury appointed apartment is in a premier location on Macrossan Street.
