Douglas Heat Basketball (DHB) will be hosting its first junior rep tournament for 2021 on Sunday August 29th @DHB’S home court.

Atherton Basketball will be bringing U16, U14 & U12 Boys teams to kick off the 2021 rep season.

DHB Club President Steve Hull says the ‘Small Clubs Tournaments’ will involve regional clubs Mareeba & Atherton and run between August & November each year, initially only juniors with the idea to add Mens and Womens teams as it evolves.

We would also be hoping to involve Cairns Basketball (CBI) in an end of season tournament in Cairns between all the regional clubs and the CBI emerging rep programme (yet to be confirmed).

It’s an exciting concept says Hull, a proposed intertown series of rep basketball while most other sporting codes have finished for the year, designed to keep Douglas Shire basketballers focused on sport and staying fit and healthy.

On the local scene, Douglas Heat’s club Season2 has just begun and is scheduled to finish in November.

Competitions currently running @DHB are U10, U13, 15’s (all mixed gender), Open Mixed and Open Mens, there are still some team vacancies in all competitions.

Stay in touch with DHB on the facebook page.

Note - All players are required to be financial members of DHB to qualify for selection in tournaments.
