The Douglas Shire is in mourning over the recent passing of Tony Lo, owner of the Jade Inn Chinese restaurant.

Tributes flowed on Jade Inn’s Facebook page with many long-term residents having known Tony for over 30 years.

Tony moved to Port Douglas in 1987 and quickly became a favourite of locals for his friendly disposition and amazing hospitality.

His family have requested that if people wish to pass on condolences, they do so on the Facebook post and give them privacy to mourn during this difficult time.

They also request that anyone wishing to send flowers instead consider donations to the Cancer Council.

Thank you!
