Taste Port Douglas to showcase the best of FNQ

Taste Port Douglas announced today that the four-day festival will return to Far North Queensland next year from 11-14 August to cement its place in the national foodie calendar.

Taste Port Douglas will showcase the best of Far North Queensland with appetising events featuring world-class food, drink and culinary talent in idyllic Port Douglas.

Food lovers can expect a dynamic program of inspirational cooking, unforgettable dining experiences and the opportunity to learn from celebrated chefs and culinary experts.

Taste Port Douglas is not yet lifting the lid on the full culinary line-up but chefs in previous years have included Colin Fassnidge (My Kitchen Rules), Ben Williamson (Agnes Brisbane), Alastair McLeod (Chef & TV Personality), Adam D’Sylva (Coda, Tonka & Lollo, Melbourne) and Spencer Patrick (Harrisons Restaurant, Port Douglas).

Award-winning chef, restaurateur and one of the founders of Taste Port Douglas, Spencer Patrick, said his passion for the region has driven him to deliver this premier festival for Far North Queensland.

“Taste Port Douglas 2021 was an incredible success for the region and the industry despite borders being shuttered around the country. We are looking forward to welcoming the whole country to the festival stage in 2022,” he said.

To support the long-term success of Taste Port Douglas and the festival’s commitment to the local community and tourism, Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas has committed as the presenting partner for a three-year period.

They are joined by Douglas Shire Council and regional tourism bodies in celebrating Port Douglas as one of Australia’s favourite foodie destinations.

Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas is excited to support Taste Port Douglas in bringing people together through delicious food and drink with a strong sense of community. The festival’s events will allow visitors of the region to enjoy good company and delicious food with a festival backdrop like no other,” said Steve Molnar, General Manager, Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas.
