Douglas Shire resident and newly acclaimed author Stephen Mott has done what many people aspire towards, but fail to follow through.

Instead of talking about writing a book about his life, he turned it into reality with Hard Luck Motty, an autobiography, which took a year to complete. He had to wait a further 12 months before Austin Macauley (London) published the book.

“I wrote it because my life has been filled with excitement and tragedies. I thought it would be worth sharing.

“Most people cannot believe the stories in my book,” he says.

“Hard Luck Motty has been through everything you can imagine. See if you can find someone who can top my life’s adventures?

“The famous people I have met and spent time with: Hollywood superstars, sporting greats. The family tragedies along the way. The excitement and thrills. The silliness and the lessons I have learnt the hard way, in my working, sporting and fun life. You need to read this book,” says Mott.

And some of the reviews have been flattering.

“This book is amazing! Spent two days by the pool enjoying Hard Luck Motty. Do yourself a favour. A must read.”

“Best life story ever read. A movie will be made from this.”

“Out of this World. What a life Hard Luck Motty has had.”

In his conclusion, Stephen writes: “Now that my story is over, it will be exciting to read the next book I write, I hope, about my middle years. Maybe I should call myself, ‘Lucky Motty’, not ‘Hard Luck Motty’? What do you think?”

The 76-pager is available on Amazon Books, Wheelers, The Book Depository and many other online book shops across the world.
