The Netflix and Channel 10 mystery drama, Dive Club, currently filming in the region, is set to heat up while filming scenes featuring pyrotechnics and flame effects at a location on Old Port Road in Port Douglas tonight.

In a statement on Facebook, the Douglas Shire Council advised the public that the filming will take place from 9:00pm to 11.30pm and to steer clear of the area where possible.

“This activity will be carried out under supervision of a qualified pyrotechnic personnel, workplace health and safety supervision and attended by the Port Douglas Fire Brigade,” the statement said.

“There will be flames and a small amount of smoke, however, please note this is a ‘controlled’ situation and there is no cause for concern.

“The crew has asked for the public to stay clear of this area while they go about our work and apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

Notice has also been given of filming in Mossman on Wednesday.

“The crew will also be filming at the back of the Mossman Cemetery tomorrow,” Council said.

“Please expect additional vehicles along the Captain Cook Highway, adjacent to the cemetery.

“Apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding and consideration.”
