A pop up COVID-19 clinic has been set up in Port Douglas this morning in response to increased testing numbers around the state following Brisbane’s snap three-day lockdown.

In a statement, the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service (CHHHS) said health partners QML have established a clinic at the Port Douglas Community Hall for the next two days.

The clinic, located at 13-29 Mowbray St, Port Douglas opened this morning at 8.30am and will remain open until 12.30pm before opening again on Thursday 1 April between 8.30am and 12.30pm.

“This is a walk-up service, so no bookings are required,” CHHHS said.

Customer Service at the Port Douglas Community Hall and Port Douglas Library will be closed during this time.

COVID-19 testing is also available at the Mossman Hospital drive-through COVID-19 Testing Clinic.

“This is an appointment-only service, which is open from 8.30am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday,” CHHHS said.

Bookings for Mossman can be made online or by calling 0459 803 382.

It comes as two new cases of community transmission were recorded in Brisbane overnight, connected to the Princess Alexandra Hospital nurse cluster.

Anyone with any symptoms of COVID-19, no matter how mild, should get tested immediately.

Anyone who has been in the Greater Brisbane area since 20 March is subject to lockdown restrictions. A list of venues on alert in Greater Brisbane, Gladstone and Byron Bay can be found here.

Masks are still mandatory across the entire state.

If you have any concerns for your health, phone your GP, phone 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) or present to your closest emergency department.
