The Croc Pit was awash with pink guernseys on Saturday when the Crocs took on the Saints at the sixth annual Pink in the Tropics match, raising thousands for the local breast cancer support group.

In total the pink day raised a whopping $7672, with $4580 raised at the Pink in the Tropics breakfast on Saturday morning, followed by $3092 raised at the pink AFL match.

The Port Douglas Crocs senior side walked away with a 45-point victory finishing on 97 points to Saints’ 52.

While it was an even match up in the reserves with the game finishing in a draw - 44 all.

Crocs President, Chris Bradsworth, said it was a successful day all around supporting Pink in the Tropics.

“It was a fantastic day, not only did we win in the Seniors, but the day itself was really successful supported by our community.”

Mr Bradsworth said around 1000 people turned out to show their support, all helping raise money for an important cause.

“It was probably our second biggest crowd through the gate,” Mr Bradsworth said.

“The volunteers were fantastic for the day also.”

“It is so heartening to see so many people who are so generous,” she said.
