A new prep to year 2 school in Mossman was officially announced in Mossman yesterday at the Tropical North Steiner School Parents & Friends (P&F) meeting.

The announcement was made in the presence of currently enrolled families and those who have already submitted their Expressions Of Interest for TNSS years 2023 and 2024.

According to a statement, “the opening of Tropical North Steiner School has been a four year process and achieved by a group of local parents and general members of the community and supported by the proposed teacher who attended the meeting by Zoom today”.

The President of the P&F, Amber Stevenson announced the decision and said the news will be welcomed by the community.

"TNSS will be  opening the doors in 2022! I'd like to thank all the parents for their support. The desire to be pioneers of this school has motivated the board and general members of the P&F to give it their all over the last 8 months. This opportunity for our children wouldn't be possible without all the  teamwork from individuals and the community,” Ms Stevenson said.

The director of Tropical North Steiner School Inc, Julie Verri thanked Amber for all her efforts and  desire to make this happen and highlighted that despite the school's humble beginnings, the long term  vision as the school grows is inspiring.

We will be hosting an Open Day later in the year (date to be confirmed) and are excited to  announce that Enrolments for Prep, Class 1 & Class 2 are still open for 2022.

Spaces are now extremely limited due to the first round of enrolments and in order to utilise the existing space we  have.

To register an expression of interest, to enrol or to find out more about the school, visit the website.
