FROM EARLIER:

A delivery truck has slid off the edge of the Captain Cook Highway at Yule Point just after 11am today.

The pantech-style delivery truck was heading northbound and has gone over the edge and then come to a halt on the embankment in a precarious position.

The cause of the incident is still unclear as emergency crews head to the scene.

Port Douglas Police Sergeant Damien Meadows has asked drivers to use caution heading through the area.

Meadows has also advised that vehicle access will be restricted at some point as heavy lifting equipment will be required to remove the vehicle.
