Local dining and restaurateurs recognised at awards ceremony

A number of Port Douglas businesses continue to celebrate today after winning their respective categories at the North Queensland and Northern Territory restaurant and catering awards.

Kai Port Douglas claimed the family dining award, while Seabean Tapas and Restaurant was named best speciality restaurant.

Reina and Spencer Patrick won the restauranteurs of the year award and Vincenzo Di Cugno from La Cucina claimed the young achiever award.

In a great sign for the local dining and restaurant scene a host of other Douglas based businesses were also recognised and acknowledged for providing service excellence by being announced as finalists in their categories heading into the event.

- Restaurant in a hotel - Harrisons Restaurant, Grand Sheraton

- Restaurant in a pub – N17 Burger Co

- Seafood restaurant – Wrasse and Roe

- Breakfast restaurant – Café Fresq

- Café dining – Café Fresq

- Restaurant caterer – Salsa Bar and Grill

- Consumer vote award – Café Fresq

- Consumer vote award – N17 Burger Co

- Food and beverage/front of house employee of year – Mia Madgwick, Café Fresq
