No impact to deliveries says Australia Post, normal hours to resume

Normal hours will resume tomorrow at Port Douglas’ Post Office after staff had been impacted by Covid-19.

In a statement to Newsport, an Australia Post spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Port Douglas LPO has been operating with reduced hours due to staff in necessary self-isolation.

“There has been no impact to deliveries and we expect normal operating hours to resume from tomorrow (January 13).

“We know that disruptions can be frustrating, but we kindly ask our customers for their patience and to treat our dedicated team members with respect as they work hard under difficult circumstances.”

The spokesperson added that its Post Offices continue to have protective screens, social distancing markers and masks worn where required to help keep team members and customers safe.
