The iconic Lennon Bros Circus is setting up their marquee tent again at Reynolds Park from June 16-19 and Newsport is giving away six double passes for their opening show!

Started in 1893, Lennon Bros Circus is the oldest touring circus in Australia. What started off as a rodeo and ‘buckjump’ show down in New South Wales, the show evolved into a travelling circus over the years.

Cheryl Lennon, owner of the circus, has been with the circus since 1979, starting off as an aerial performer. “I went to the circus when it was on tour in Tasmania in 1979 and I basically ran away with it,” she told Newsport.

Ms Lennon married into the circus and her husband is the sixth generation of the Lennon family. “We have performers from Mexico, Brazil, Chile, the Ukraine and Columbia. We are a pretty tight knit family and we’ve known each other for many years.

“We love coming to Port Douglas, the atmosphere is excellent and the weather is beautiful. It ticks all the boxes.”

The show features traditional clowns and showcases a wide variety of circus arts such as tumblers, flying trapeze, hula hoops, acrobats, double wheel of death and aerialists. If traditional circus is your thing then it doesn't get much better than this.
