Port Douglas will go into party mode this weekend with three full days of action as the town celebrates the event of the year – Port Douglas Carnivale.

Friday May 20

Totally Tiki Hawaiian Party at the Yacht Club 7.30pm - midnight

Wear a bright floral shirt, grass skirt or lei and celebrate the tropical way. Down among the palms of the Port Douglas Yacht Club, a starry night awaits you.

There will be Hawaiian dancing and drums to kick off the celebrations followed by epic house beats played by the one and only DJ SAFAGE and DJ JUST ANDY.

Saturday May 21

Family beach day at Four Mile Beach 9am - 3pm

Carnivale goes to the seaside all day Saturday with the Tin Shed Family Beach Day, with competitions, food stalls, roving entertainers, skydiving displays as well as the chance to participate in kite surfing, beach hockey and BMX.

FNQ Gin Fest at Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina 12pm - 6pm

On the opposite side of town, the inaugural FNQ Gin Fest kicks off at 12noon at the Crystalbrook

Offering an afternoon of laid-back indulgence with cocktails, food trucks and music from DJ Bart, noon till 3pm, and Tessa Devine from 3pm-6pm, the distilleries taking part are Devils Thumb from Port Douglas, Wolf Lane and Narrow Tracks from Cairns, Distil On The Hill from Kuranda, and Atherton Tableland distilleries Wild River Mountain from Wondecla and Mt Uncle from Walkamin.

Tropic Rock at Rex Smeal Park 5pm - 10.30pm

Saturday night Tropic Rock will turn back the clock to bring two of the greats of the era and arguably some of the most popular songs ever sung, to the stunning surrounds of Rex Smeal Park with two great tribute acts - The Australian INXS Show and “It’s my Life” - The Bon Jovi Story.

Sunday May 22

Seafood Extravaganza at Crystalbrook Superyacht marina 12pm - 7pm

Sunday is all about succulent seafood. The bounty of Port Douglas and the Coral Sea will feature at the Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina.

This round of Seafood Extravaganza features a monster lineup of music, entertainment, and of course a showcase of the best seafood the region has to offer, not to mention the best beer too.

This is a day for families and friends, visitors and locals to come together and enjoy free entertainment and great seafood all along the boardwalk at the Marina. Kick back with a coldie, be entertained by Tullara, Lady Valiant and Los Caracoles, and tuck into a bucket of prawns.
