Two people have been taken to Mossman Hospital in "a stable condition" following a truck rollover on the Captain Cook Highway just a short time ago.

A QAS spokesperson told Newsport they first received a call about the accident around 11.45am.

Paramedics remain at the scene and continue to assess a man for any injuries after a truck went over the shoulder of the road near Yule Point on the Captain Cook Highway which resulted in the truck's cabin crashing into a tree.

EARLIER: There are unconfirmed reports of a truck rollover just north of Yule Point along the Captain Cook Highway between Cairns and Port Douglas.

Newsport understands an ambulance unit is on its way to the scene.

It’s understood traffic is still able to pass the accident scene.
