Mossman Taxi service revitalised in time for busy Christmas period

Residents of Mossman can rejoice as the rejuvenation of Mossman Taxi Service means more access to the town and surrounding suburbs for the community. An extension of the current Port Douglas service, the expansion into Mossman was prompted by the absence of a local transport service and an increase in demand from residents.
Current taxi regulations mean that the Port Douglas fleet is unable to pick up from other taxi areas with Mossman Taxi Manager Kerrilynn Williams, citing this as one of the main factors for the recovery of the Mossman fleet. “We were receiving so many calls for bookings in the area and saw a real need for a Mossman service so we decided to take it on,” she explained.
Commencing taxi services since December 1st, Ms Williams expresses the goal of ensuring convenient and efficient transportation for the residents of Mossman. Emphasising that no journey is deemed too short or too long, she affirms, "We're here to serve everyone, from the local chemist to destinations as far as Cairns."
While most trips will be run on the meter, longer journeys will operate at a set price ensuring there will be no surprises for customers when they go to pay.
In a commitment to inclusivity and servicing the needs of all passengers, Mossman Taxi has a dedicated wheelchair-friendly vehicle as part of its fleet, which can accommodate up to 9 passengers or 4 passengers with 2 wheelchairs, ensuring that everyone in the community has access to reliable transportation services.
Wait times are of course a reason for concern for most users of public transport but Ms Williams assures Mossman Taxi will be doing all it can to prevent any delays and have a consistent wait time of less than 10 minutes “This timeframe does depend on demand and we will have a dedicated call centre available to provide real-time updates,” she explained.
As an introductory gift to customers, Mossman Taxi is currently offering a $5 off each trip!
