Croc-bite patient thanks his dog 'Magic Molly' for life-saving sacrifice
CROC ATTACK
In what's taken a dramatic turn with the release to social media of what appears to be grainy phone footage, croc victim Alister MacPhee has broken his silence from his Cairns Hospital bedside.
National breakfast media this morning ran the footage posted to social media showing the critical moment Mr Macphee and his dog Magic Molly entered the water at the Bloomfield Boat Ramp north of Port Douglas on Wednesday.
Mr MacPhee has this afternoon released the below statement.
"While I am recovering from my injuries, I am asking people to please respect my privacy.
I want to thank emergency services and staff at Cairns Hospital for looking after me. Especially Magic Molly (my dog) who was always by my side.
I have, unfortunately, learned the hard way. Everyone needs to be croc-wise in croc territory."
Thank you!
