A savvy future buyer of a property that has now hit the Douglas market and is ready to be snapped up has a chance to become a unique part of Queensland real estate history.

The potential buyer who secures villa 11/4-10 Rachel Carson Lane will join an illustrious group of owners who will enjoy the first community-shared solar power system in a Queensland residential complex.

In simple terms thanks to a fruitful agreement between body corporate, Juice Capital and South Street energy the future owners will save on power costs and lap up zero maintenance expenses, while enjoying the benefits of a reliable and solid grid connection.

More broadly, the expansive newly constructed property is fit for the most discerning buyer who enjoys pure luxury and elegance.

The 510m2 fully furnished home boasts seven bedrooms, 4.5 baths, an internal lift, double garage, a pool, beautiful soaring ceilings, light filled living areas, lavish modern kitchens, opulent ensuites and golf course frontage.

Keen golfers will love the double five-year Sheraton Mirage, country club membership.

The property is selling at $5,250,000. Those keen to inspect and chat about the property are invited to contact Tony Soltys on 0419 695 193, [email protected] or Lee Tartaglia on 0499 043 311, [email protected].

Points of interest

  • Rachel Carson was an American marine biologist and became a pioneering environmentalist when she wrote “Silent Spring” in 1962. Her writings drove policy change and were the seeds of the growing movement towards sustainability we see today. In 1997, the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority honoured her by annexing the northern section of Escape Reef, north of Port Douglas, and renaming it Rachel Carson Reef.
  • The first community-shared solar power in a residential development in Queensland. In a ground-breaking agreement between the Body Corporate and Juice Capital (providing the highest quality solar infrastructure and batteries) and South Street Energy, owners save on power costs, have zero maintenance costs while having the security of grid connection. Known as an embedded network, this will hopefully be the first of other residential and commercial properties in the Douglas Shire to take up solar power without the usual capital and maintenance costs.
  • The solar power generated is estimated to provide 60-80% of power required, and will replace grid power with an offset of approximately 199,326 tonnes of CO2, the equivalent of taking over 3,500 cars off the road for the life of the installation (initially 25 years). This is about 1 car for every person currently living in Port Douglas.
  • The newest project from the acclaimed Morris Family, renowned for thoughtfully designed projects with over 50 years of successful property developments in Port Douglas.
  • Represents the pinnacle in contemporary design where architecture becomes art. Designed and constructed to appreciate the environment with a focus on sustainable development.
