An ambitious Port Douglas start up that has provided locals and tourists alike with slick cocktails, delicious wings and other delectable goodness since August 2021 will close its doors for the final time day.

Wharf St Social brought a social approach to dining in Douglas with guests able to enjoy a drink or a snack while taking in the view over market park.

However a short time ago the faces behind the business confirmed today is the final day of trade.

“We’ve given it our all but some things just aren’t meant to be and unfortunately the time has come for us to close our doors,” Craig and Cassie from Wharf St Social told their online followers.

“We would like to thank all of our staff both past and present for coming along on this journey with us, and we know none of it would have been possible without them…

“This coming Friday the 20th of January (today) will be our final service and will feature a reduced menu but with that reduced prices as we wind things up and take one last time to say goodbye.

“We hope you’ll stop in for a drink, something to eat or even just to say hi.

“We are looking forward to whatever the future may hold and hope to see everyone about town.”

Meantime, a Mossman favourite has also decided to call it a day.

The Inn Front confirmed next Saturday, January 28 will be its final day of business.

The Inn has encouraged locals to come in and taste their delicious homemade Dutch bitterballen or the delightful Mojo’s chocolate fondue for the last time.

Some Mossman locals indicated the town is crying out for a decent pizza, or chicken and chip shop to open its doors in the town.
