Two vehicles have been stolen from Port Douglas in two days and police are seeking public assistance to help locate them.

The two, a Great Wall and a Subaru, are one of several stolen over the past few weeks in the far north.

The Subaru – similar to the one pictured above, has the registration number 333ZKB and was stolen on Sunday July 23. The Great Wall, rego no 609FNS, was stolen on Monday the 24th.

Police said 49 vehicles in total have been reported stolen this month in the region – and 503 so far this year. There were 1299 stolen in 2022.

They have again issued reminders to the public to help prevent vehicle theft:

  • Remove all valuables from your vehicle;
  • Ensure your vehicle is locked;
  • Do not leave spare keys in your car;
  • Ensure your keys are secured in a safe place out of plain view; and
  • Ensure that your home is secure.
