The Directors of Bamanga Bubu Ngadimunku Aboriginal Corporation who are responsible for the discrete community at the Mossman Gorge, have unanimously voted to support the Yes campaign at the upcoming referendum.

“Having a representative from the Far North Queensland region’s First Nations people advising our Federal Parliament is an exciting one and we are keen to support it,” chairperson Karen Gibson said.

“We will be providing as much information to the residents of the Mossman Gorge about the issue covered in the referendum so they can make an informed decision.

“As it is compulsory to vote in the referendum, we will make voting as accessible as possible for them.

“Although many of the finer details of the subsequent legislation are not yet available, I believe the intent of providing such an advisory body to Parliament can only benefit First Nations people and Australia as a whole."
