Mossman motorists' relief as key road upgrades completed
BETTER ROADS

The end is in sight for extremely patient Mossman motorists following the completion of a range of road upgrade projects within the town.
The State Government confirmed upgrades along Mossman – Daintree road are now done.
Recently finished works included upgrades between Atherton Street and Newell Road that took in the realignment of the Jones Street intersection, closing Atherton Street access to Mossman – Daintree Road and installing left and right turning lanes into Syndicate Road.
“Locals and tourists alike will reap the benefits of this substantial investment in improving safety on Mossman – Daintree Road,” Assistant Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Carol Brown told Newsport.
A local MP also commented on the recent developments.
“Safety is our number one priority, and we take community feedback seriously,” Cook MP Cynthia Lui remarked.
“The decision to close off Atherton Street follows community feedback to address an unsafe exit onto Mossman – Daintree Road.
“New arrangements like those installed on Mossman – Daintree Road can take some getting used to and we appreciate the patience of residents in north Mossman.”
