The Douglas Shire came alive once again as it celebrated Melbourne Cup day in grand style, turning our pocket of paradise into a hub of festive activity.

The renowned "race that stops a nation" was celebrated in style at multiple venues across Port Douglas and Mossman, and Newsport was there to capture all the action.
