Some tourists enjoying perfect Douglas Shire weather and the delights of the mighty Daintree river experienced a unique spectacle during their recent crocodile cruise in the region.

As guests cruised down the river just days ago tourists’ eyes were quickly drawn to well known Daintree river female crocodile “Scuter”, who had caught and begun to devour a sizeable scrub python.

While this type of activity might be somewhat common in the Daintree those aboard were delighted to see such an event taking place on a regular cruise.

Moments later David White from Solar Whisper snapped an amazing picture of “Scuter” holding the python in its mouth.

The snake had been resting on a low tree branch next to the river before the crocodile pounced to collect its breakfast.
