MISSED OPPORTUNITY: Reader questions inaction and lack of engagement around Sh*tbox Rally
LETTER TO EDITOR

Dear Editor,
We are today welcoming several of the teams who are participating in the Sh*tbox Rally and staying at a Port Douglas accomodation provider.
There are 250 teams all in colourful “s**tboxes” who are driving to Adelaide through the red centre and collecting money for cancer charities.
They are coming from all over Australia to be here. The start of the whole event is on Saturday in Port Douglas.
Why is it that, yet again, there is totally zero publicity about events like this. Nothing from tourism bodies (or) Douglas Shire Council?
A welcoming/departing parade through Macrossan Street would have been amazing.
We are sure they have amazing stories to tell about why they are participating.
Another missed opportunity.
Regards,
Newsport reader
