Three people, ages unknown, were involved in a two vehicle car accident this afternoon on the Captain Cook Highway.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told Newsport they received a call about 2.15pm to attend to the incident in which they were told occurred in the vicinity of Oak Beach.

The spokesperson said three people at the scene declined QAS assessment or an offer of transport.

The cause of this afternoon’s accident is unknown.

Today’s matter marks the sixth accident on the Captain Cook Highway between Port Douglas and Cairns in two months, with the five incidents prior to today’s all motorbike related.
