Captain Cook Highway closed at Mowbray due to accident

The Department of Transport and Main roads has confirmed the Captain Cook Highway is currently closed due to an accident near Mowbray.
It's understood multiple units were called to the scene to treat a male motorcycle rider at around 12.50pm in the area around Sherrington Road.
QAS told Newsport moments ago the motorcycle rider currently remains in a "critical condition".
Queensland Police have advised the highway will likely be closed for a while yet and that motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.
