As the students of Wonga Beach State School wrapped up a term of hard work, they celebrated their efforts with a week packed full of exciting events, rewards, Easter treats, and more.

After weeks of dedication to their assessments, this final stretch was a well-earned chance to reflect on their successes and enjoy some well-deserved fun.

But that’s not the only thing happening at Wonga Beach. The school’s much-anticipated cross-country event took place. Students designed and decorated colourful T-shirts to represent their Reef or Rainforest house teams.

Sad farewell

However, this term also brings moments of sadness as the school says farewell to two beloved members of the community.

Principal Emma Tait is embarking on an overseas education trip to further her knowledge, leaving a lasting impact on the students and staff. 

And the school bids an emotional goodbye to their dedicated cleaner Kaylene Hartley, who has been part of Wonga Beach School for more than 16 years. 

Kaylene’s unwavering commitment to keeping the school a clean, healthy, and happy environment has not gone unnoticed. Her cheerful morning greetings, the opening of classrooms, and her ever-present care for the school community will be deeply missed. 

Both Miss Tait and Kaylene have left an indelible mark on the hearts of students, staff, and families. 

With the school community looking forward to a well-earned rest over the next two weeks, there is no doubt that Term 2 will bring even more excitement, learning, and memorable experiences.
