If you play your cards right, you can celebrate a unique night of entertainment in Mossman soon, with a hypnotist magician hitting town from interstate.

Melbourne comedy hypnotist Andy Vening will be playing one show only as part of the Mossman State High School Gala Night, along with popular local band Viva Moss Vegas.

School parent committee president Phoebe Kitto says the event promises to be much more than a fundraiser.

“The school is the hub of a community,” she says.

“(One) reason we want to do it is to bring the community together.”

The event has attracted more than $10,000 in local business-community support, with a host of prizes to be handed out on the night including Silky Oaks and Quicksilver vouchers, golf rounds and massages.

“Anyone can come along either as individuals or as a table,” Ms Kitto says.

“We’d like it to be a huge night, we’d like it to be a great night, a night for Mossman people to dress up and celebrate.

“We’re hoping it will be a really fun night for everybody.”

The Mossman State High School Gala Night is on Saturday, September 13.
