Coral Coast club brings home gold haul
JUDO STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Douglas Shire judo club Coral Coast Judo has achieved some spectacular results at the Queensland State Championships in Brisbane, with three competitors bringing home a total of five gold medals and a silver.
Nikita McDonald, Nanami Anderson and Nevaeh Barney all fought well, with Nevaeh winning gold in the Girls U13 division, and silver in the Boys U11 category.
Nikita, who recently competed at the Melbourne International Judo Open, did incredibly well once again, bringing home gold in both the senior and junior women under 78kg category.
Nanami won two golds in the under 52kg and the under 48kg junior and senior women's.
Club president Jeff Anderson said he was “extremely proud”.
“This is a great achievement for our club,” Mr Anderson said.
“The rest of the club is currently training in Japan, otherwise we could have gotten even more medals!”
