An impressive 80 years of lawn bowling and other community activities have been celebrated at Club Mossman with a big party on Sunday.
The day began with speeches from Douglas Shire Mayor Lisa Scomazzon and other dignitaries, before live music by guitarist and singer Geoff Black and a light lunch.
Money draws kicked off at 2pm, with $1000 per hour being given away to members who were there on the day.
The final jackpot winner was club member Trish Arnold, who took home $5000.
The day was also a special one for new club secretary manager Matthew Bressington, who got a taste of what a big celebration is like at his new workplace.
