A woman in her 60s has been evacuated from Port Douglas to Cairns via helicopter in a life-threatening condition this afternoon.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said she suffered a medical episode while snorkelling about 60km off the coast of Port Douglas at about 12.30pm.
The woman was rushed back to the Port Douglas docks and transported by ambulance to a waiting medevac helicopter at Port Douglas oval, which took off not long after 3.30pm.
