Whirlwind campaign for Tones and I gig is gathering pace
Port Douglas
A Douglas Shire local has started an online campaign to convince singer Tones and I to play a gig in Port Douglas next month after the popular vocalist put out a call to fans across Australia who want to see her perform in their region.
Ali Lee has started the “Tones and I in the Tropics” Facebook page with the sole purpose of convincing the producer of popular hits such as Dance Monkey and Fly Away to perform in the Far North Queensland tourist town.
“I saw the post Tones and I made on her page and saw a few other people commenting about how Port Douglas would be a great location,” Ali says.
“I just thought… why not put our hand up?
“It’s a perfect location.”
The Tones and I online post she is talking about was written this week after she returned from touring countries including the UK.
“I'm back in my home country Aus,” she wrote.
“One big show and I'll make tickets $10.
“20th of Feb.
“Whatever place goes the hardest gets the show!”
The winner will be announced early next week, Tones and I says.
“I know this may seem erratic and very last minute, but that's how I've always been.”
Ali needs all the support she can get, so click on Tones and I in the Tropics to visit her page and back her campaign for Tones and I to play in Port Douglas next month.
