Newell Beach estate flood study complete

A new 21-block housing allotment at Newell Beach is a step closer to happening.
First proposed in September 2022, the estate, by Far North Development Group, is planned for 2 Andrews Street.
The 2.1ha project has been subject to several conditions imposed by planners in relation to the reduction of flood risks in the area.
As part of the proposed works, new drainage channels will be established and existing drainage channels widened.
Applin Consulting was appointed to help document the findings of an overland-flow flood study for an area next to Coulthard Close.
The Douglas Shire Council planning department requested the study before the development could proceed.
