The Douglas Shire community came together at Salsa Bar and Grill on Friday, March 6 to celebrate International Women’s Day, with an afternoon of connection, generosity and support for local families.

The annual luncheon, organised by the Port Douglas Neighbourhood Centre, brought together community members to mark the occasion and raise funds for an important local cause.

Proceeds from the event will go towards providing free family counselling sessions for families in the Douglas Shire.

Organisers thanked everyone who attended, saying the strong turnout helped make the day a meaningful celebration of community spirit and support.

Guests also took part in a cent sale, with a wide range of prizes donated by local businesses and individuals across the region.
