A 20-year-old Mossman man was yesterday arrested after a 32-year-old was hospitalised by an intruder while at home in February.

The 32-year-old man told police he was at home on Saturday, February 7, when someone he knew came in and demanded property, then hit him in the head and face with a metal bar, causing severe cuts and injuring his jaw.

The man had to be airlifted to Cairns Hospital for surgery.

Police charged a 20-year-old man with grievous bodily harm on Tuesday, March 24.
