Amazing video has emerged of the Daintree Ferry and part of the wharf stranded in the middle of the Daintree River following flooding overnight.

Filmed by Daintree resident Jarrah Smith, and sent to Newsport, the footage is taken from a passing boat.

Another video shows the croc tour businesses and other buildings along the riverbanks fully submerged by floodwaters.

The ferry is currently closed after breaking free from moorings in the early hours of this morning.

"A recovery mission will begin at first light when conditions are safe,” Douglas Shire Council states.

“Council and emergency crews will work to recover the vessel as soon as conditions allow.”

Queensland Police have been informed of the situation.
