A car crash on the Captain Cook Highway north of the Ferero Road turnoff at Craiglie has closed the road in both directions.

Police and other emergency services are on the scene of the crash, which took place before 3.45pm.

There is no information yet about details of the accident, including whether there has been any injuries.

Commuters are advised to avoid the area.
