Thousands fined for e-mobility misuse

Police across Queensland have seized 558 non-compliant e-mobility devices and issued more than 2,400 traffic infringement notices riders in the first three months of statewide Operation Yankee Surety.
The counts include 40 seized non-compliant bikes and 193 e-mobility infringement notices being issued in the Far North, with three people booked for drink riding.
A total 68 people have been booked by random breath testing for drink riding across Queensland.
Since the operation commenced on July 1, police have conducted targeted enforcement to seize non-compliant devices, ensure age and licencing requirements are adhered to, and deter dangerous riding behaviours such as speeding, drink riding and riding without a helmet.
