Peninsula and Hi-Tide are a masterclass in indulgence thanks to new GM

A leader in luxury and a master of indulgence Bobbie Murphy has taken the reigns as General Manager of Peninsula Boutique Hotel and HiTide Restaurant.
With a clear vision, Ms Murphy is taking strides to enhance the property as the embodiment of contemporary style, sustainable luxury complimented with a neighbourhood feel.
Her career has taken her from equestrian to exquisite stays - Ms Murphy traded in horses for hotels when she was appointed GM of one of the Sunshine Coast’s leading luxury resorts, where she led her team to many industry accolades including hall of fame awards and national recognition for luxury boutique accommodation in Australia.
Since then, she hasn’t looked back.
As well as managing Sir Richard Branson’s Noosa Island, Ms Murphy has amassed a wealth of experience that she will apply along with her passion for reliable luxury and talent for creating unrivalled and enriching guest experiences to crank up the unique offerings at the Peninsula Hotel and HiTide restaurant on Four Mile Beach.
“I have led a team of talented chefs in hatted restaurants and worked with some of Australia’s best sommeliers – some of their knowledge has rubbed off on me and I certainly know how to enjoy a delicious meal and good wine, if nothing else,” she said.
Beginning her tender earlier this year her focus was to build a strong talented team to complement the property, like many she was faced with the obvious challenges that come with the current COVID climate, a decline in the labour force.
Despite this, she took a savvy recruitment approach that paid off and has been able to recruit top-notch talent of customer-centric professionals who share her vision.
“I started here in April 2021, which was just the start of what was to be a difficult year for so many in Port Douglas.”
“However, we have managed to improve many areas of the hotel and restaurant, recruit a great team and really focus on the experience here for our guests, making sure that they keep coming back to the region for many more holidays to come.”
“It is important for me to build a team that is on board with the vision for the future and have the skills and strengths to support that and deliver it.”
“I have been able to build a core team with key members that bring so much to the table and will make our vision better than even I thought possible, in time.”
“At the foundation of everything that I do, we will always remain a relaxing and welcoming venue, delivering quality food and service,” she said

Ms Murphy said they are blessed with their location overlooking Four Mile Beach and getting that cooling ocean breeze.
“We have improved the offering here at HiTide with dinner being a more refined dining experience. We are not pretentious, we are honest to our location, ensuring that our menu, which is inspired by our view, is delivered with a smile and complemented with an extensive wine list.”
