Big auction weekend ahead
Setting the bar for local real estate market

Port Douglas real estate agents are set to host a big weekend of auctions with nine houses to go under the hammer on Saturday 23 April.
Raine & Horne, the Pink Company, LJ Hooker and Ray White have listed their properties for auction this weekend with Ray White hosting the most number of auctions.
Mark Flinn from Ray White Port Douglas said that this weekend’s auction will show how strong the current real estate market is in our area.
“We have five residential properties to sell on Saturday, something that has not previously been seen in Port Douglas,” Mr Flinn said.
“The steady enquiry has continued on all five of these properties and we expect the roving auctions to draw multiple buyers and a local crowd of real estate enthusiasts plus many more watching via our online live streaming.
“It's a great opportunity to be a part of the auction action and see firsthand how the real estate market is performing.”
This year, the Ray White team has previously sold 12 properties under the hammer, ranging from a beachfront penthouse in Port Douglas to a treehouse in the rainforest at Whynabeel. “The prospect of doubling that result this week is very exciting,” Mr Flinn said.
Popularity of auctions
With demand for property reaching extreme levels in Queensland it is no surprise that auctions are increasing in popularity.
Mr Flinn thinks that the auction process provides equal opportunity for buyers. “It is transparent and ensures the best possible price for our vendors with a measured marketing plan and essential market feedback.”
