Free passenger ferry while Daintree Ferry closed for maintenance this weekend
Infrastructure

A free passenger ferry will operate between 6am and 6pm on Saturday 7 May and Sunday 8 Maywhile the Daintree Ferry is closed for maintenance this weekend.
The ferry service will cease at 10pm on Friday 6 May and resume at 5am on Monday 9 May.
The important repair work, which involves removing the damaged ramp and replacing it with a newly fabricated ramp (see below), will ensure the crossing remains safe for the public to use heading into the peak tourism season.
Council has secured a 50-person passenger ferry which will operate from the public pontoon near the crocodile cruise terminal at the ferry crossing on the southern bank of the Daintree River.
The service will operate continuously across the river from 6am to 6pm. There will not be a vehicle ferry service for the closure period.
Council has advised that if you would like to discuss your individual circumstances, please contact Council’s Community Liaison Officer Gaye Scott on 0418 793 009.
Thank you!
