Meet Gary, a celebrated architect who proves the sky’s the limit when working in paradise.

Leading architect Gary Hunt loves living in Port Douglas. “It’s a community where everyone looks after one another.”

Mr Hunt is a mad-keen sailor and Port Douglas is the perfect location for him to get out on the Reef.

His architecture studio, Hunt Design, is built on a 200 acre farm and with his business he has clients all over Australia.

“We don’t have the stresses of people who live in Melbourne or Sydney and yet we can offer projects that are just as sophisticated as anywhere else in Australia,” he says in the video.

As part of the ‘Do it in Douglas’ campaign, Douglas Shire Council, Tourism Port Douglas Daintree (TPDD) and Douglas Chamber of Commerce have launched a new series of storytelling videos that shine a light on local entrepreneurs and talent.

Do It In Douglas is about encouraging growth and prosperity in the Shire’s small business community.

The launch of nine videos will take people into the lives of those that have realised success in business and life. It also gives an inspiring and equally realistic insight into what it’s like to do business in Douglas.
