Carnivale is winding back the clock with INXS

This year, Carnivale is winding back the clock and celebrating music from the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s.

Get ready to go back in time with two of the greatest bands ever and arguably some of the most popular songs ever sung, all in the stunning surrounds of Rex Smeal Park.

Two high energy party bands that will pay tribute to INXS and Bon Jovi. Tropic Rock presents The Australian INXS Show which faithfully reproduces the live spectacle INXS were famous for. INXS were with us for 35 years gathering up six ARIA awards, three Grammy nominations and over 30 million album sales. They were also one of only five Australian bands to boast a US No 1 hit single. Their songs are iconic like ‘Never Tear Us Apart’, ‘Need You Tonight’, ‘Baby Don’t Cry’ and so many more.

Michael Hutchence lives on

We lost the genius of INXS front man Michael Hutchence on the 22nd of November 1997. He was a complex man who was constantly fighting his demons and they finally won, but as a showman he was extraordinary. He’s gone but the legend lives on. The man charged with being Michael Hutchence for the night is Dellacoma Rio and according to most, he’s a natural to occupy the spot.

Dell told Newsport “Pretty well most of my life I’ve had people say I look and move like Michael Hutchence on stage, but I really wanted to do my own music but eventually the Australian INXS Show came knocking to do a fill in show which was a private 40th birthday party and it went so well I ended up full time in the role and it's taken me around the globe”. When Michael Hutchence left this world, he left behind grieving fans who yearned to see him just once more on stage and while Dell agrees he’ll never replace him, he does however feel for the time he’s on stage, fans will be pleased with his honouring of Michael “. Dell and the band arrived today so they could get a feel for Port Douglas before they do their show tomorrow evening.

But wait there’s more

We also have ‘It’s My Life’ The Bon Jovi Story playing the park. This show pays its respects to one of the greatest rock bands of all time. ‘It’s My Life’ tells the story of Bon Jovi from the early 80’s up to the present day and features some of the best musicians in the business. With their good looks and irresistible pop-metal sound, it’s no wonder Bon Jovi became one of the bestselling bands of all time with over 130 million albums sold worldwide. Releasing hit after hit for over 25 years the band are still going strong but alas, very rarely include Australia in their world tours.

All the hits will be in there ‘Living On A Prayer’, ‘Wanted Dead Or Alive’, ‘Bad Medicine’, ‘Lay Your Hands on Me’ and many more. Rob Moody is the powerhouse behind both the INXS and Bon Jovi experiences. He told Newsport “It’s going to be a rare night bringing these bands together and everyone is in for a real treat” he said. In fact, Rob describes the INXS show as 1 hour of ‘power’ and Bon Jovi 90 minutes of high energy. “The musicians have been hand picked and put through rigorous rehearsals which they love

Two for the price of one

Tickets for this spectacular 2 band experience are $45 tomorrow 21st May, gates open at 5:00pm at Rex Smeal Park Port Douglas.
