For charity and adventure - the show warming hearts around the world
ON SET IN PORT DOUGLAS
A popular television program with a renowned purpose of combining fundraising with unforgettable adventure activities has begun filming around the wonderous Douglas Shire.
Adventure All-stars is about 24 genuine people that get to participate in bucket list type activities, in remote and exotic locations across the country.
However, the real sweetener is that all net proceeds raised from Adventure All Stars 'Legends' goes to directly supporting selected charities that each participant fundraised for prior to entering the program.
Beneficiaries of the fundraising this season includes: Animal Welfare League QLD, Blue Tree Project, Charlie Teo Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Australia, Freedom Hill Sanctuary, Friends of Mithra, Great Lakes Women’s Shelter, HAS Foundation, headspace, KIDS Foundation, Kulture Break, Love, Hope & Gratitude Foundation, Mindfull Aus, MND and Me Foundation, Moyamoya Australia, Myeloma Australia, Pet Medical Crisis, RAISEducation, RizeUp Australia, Ronald McDonald House Charities, Royal Society for the Blind, Samaritan’s Purse and StandbyU.
“We’re very proud that we’re able to put together a show that is focused on philanthropy and providing charities with much needed and worthwhile funds,” All-Stars executive producer Troy Gray told Newsport on set earlier this morning from the Wildlife Habitat.
“There is nothing more rewarding then seeing the contestants raise funds for their chosen charity, then reward them by having them take part in bucket list activities in beautiful parts of Australia.
“The Douglas Shire was an obvious choice for us to visit. The rainforest and the reef makes this an undeniable and obvious place for us to film and enjoy.”
Since its inception the format has raised a staggering $9M positioning it as one of the biggest contributors to philanthropy of any TV series on the planet.
“Being involved with Adventure All-Stars has proved the most amazing experience," contestant Susie O’ Neill said.
“The people you meet and the fact you get to fundraise for charity makes this one of the best things I’ve done in my life.”
The program will film across the region from today until February 17.
