Prison break sparks local manhunt

Douglas Shire residents have been encouraged to keep an eye out for an inmate that remains on the run after escaping from Lotus Glen Correctional Centre (Farm) earlier this morning.

Queensland Police and Queensland Corrective Services confirmed they continue to search for prisoner Henry Peters, 28.

Mr Peters is 174cm tall, weighs approximately 63kg, is medium build and of dark complexion, has brown eyes and black hair. 

Police said he has a scar across his left eye brow and another on the inner elbow of his right arm.
Mr Peters has a two year sentence for break and enter dwelling with violence or threats.

Local police along with officers from the Corrective Services Investigation Unit are assisting in the investigation.

Anyone with information in relation to his whereabouts is urged to immediately contact police.
