Man charged with a staggering 26 alleged offences, set for court appearance
A man was due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court today after Police charged a 22-year-old Manunda man with a staggering 26 offences following a series of alleged break and enters around a number of Cairns suburbs.
Police confirmed they located the man 24 hours ago at Manunda, in inner Cairns where he was soon taken into custody.
Police will allege that the man was involved in break and enters at properties across the greater Cairns area including Mooroobool, Manunda, Caravonica, Manoora, Cairns North, Mount Sheridan, Whitfield and Edge Hill.
Police will also allege that on February 2, the man broke into a Swallow Street home at Mooroobool, allegedly stealing valuables.
It will be further alleged that on February 7 the man broke into a Caravonica residence where he proceeded to steal a range of valuables.
He was charged with six counts of enter dwelling and commit, five counts of trespass and three counts each of enter premise and attempted enter premise.
He was also charged with two counts each of attempted enter dwelling, contravention of domestic violence order and one count each of common assault (DV offence), fail to properly dispose of needle or syringe, stealing, wilful damage (DV offence) and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
